Multi Engine Instrument Rating (ME/IR)

Without doubt the most popular course offered by Aerodynamics to international students.

We have 4 different options for this course depending on students previous conditions.

Overall requirements:

- Minimum 18 years of age
- JAR Theoretical IR (recommended theoretical ATPL)
- To hold a PPL (A) including Night Qualification
- Flight Radiotelephony Operation licence
- 50 hours Cross country flight time as PIC in aeroplanes or heli-copters, of which at least 10 hours shall be in airplane
- Current JAR FCL 3.355 (b) medical

Course Content:

Course content for the 4 different options available are:

OPTION 1
- Student must be holder of a PPL Single Engine
- 8 hours ground School
- 40 hours instrument time under instruction in a Simulator FNPT II
- 21 hours instrument time under instruction in a Multi Engine aircraft (BE-76 Beechcraft Duchess)
- JAR ME (A) (VFR) Skill test
- JAR IR (A) (IFR) Skill test
- 6 hours flight time (in Beechcraft Duchess BE-76 or similar)
- 2 hours simulator FNPT II
- Skill test

OPTION 2
- Student must be holder of CPL/SE
- 35 hours instrument time under instruction in a Simulator FNPT II
- 21 hours instrument time under instruction in a Multi Engine aircraft (BE-76 Beechcraft Duchess)
- JAR ME (A) (VFR) Skill test
- JAR IR (A) (IFR) Skill test

OPTION 3
- Student must be holder of CPL/ME (with at least 50 hr. flight time)
- 35 hours instrument time under instruction in a Simulator FNPT II
- 15 hours instrument time under instruction in a Multi Engine aircraft (BE-76 Beechcraft Duchess)
- JAR IR (A) (IFR) Skill test

OPTION 4
- Student must be holder of PPL Multi-Engine
- 40 hours instrument time under instruction in a Simulator FNPT II
- 15 hours instrument time under instruction in a Multi Engine aircraft (BE-76 Beechcraft Duchess)
- JAR IR (A) (IFR) Skill test

Course includes:

- AESA examiner fees
- Landing Fees
- Skill Test
- Study Materials

Required documentation at start of the course: 

- Photocopy of ID card/passport
- Medical Certificate
- Current licence
- Certificate of hours (or copy last page of logbook)
- 2 passport size photos on paper or electronic format
